Outlaw Marine and 4x4 runs out of a workshop in Coconut Grove, built around one idea that goes back to Lachlan's childhood: a single shop that handles the ute and the boat, instead of sending Territory families across town for one or the other.
A Territorian Who Grew Up Between Utes and Boats
Lachlan was born and raised in the Territory, and grew up around the Darwin 4x4 scene with a ute and a boat parked in the driveway for as long as he can remember. He started in the marine trade in year 10, moved straight into light vehicle mechanics afterwards and had two trade tickets before he'd properly finished growing up. Neither trade ever felt like the "side" one to the other, and running them apart never made much sense to him.
One Shop, Not Two Trades Split Across Town
That early idea became Outlaw Marine and 4x4: a one-stop shop for touring rigs and boats, covering auto repairs, 4x4 servicing, suspension builds and marine mechanical work under the same roof. Small engines and lawn mowers get sorted here too, alongside the bigger jobs. Being straight with people matters more to Lachlan than being the cheapest quote in town, and he still gets a kick out of handing someone their keys back after a lift kit or a bull bar install and watching their face when they see it finished.
Straight Answers, Local Turnaround
Every job starts the same way: call or send an enquiry, get a quote, then get it sorted. Parts sometimes need ordering in, and Lachlan's always upfront about timing before any work starts, honesty over a quick sale, every time.
